Welcome
IKFT® - International Kids Friendly Travel
The independent international reference for kids friendly travel
Find hotels and experiences for kids.
International Kids Friendly Travel (IKFT®) was created to make it easier for parents to find hotels that are genuinely welcoming for children places designed for comfort, play, rest, and happy memories. We help families identify travel options that truly care for kids, while encouraging hotels and operators that invest in creating inclusive, enjoyable spaces for every child.

IKFT® is an independent recognition for family suitability in travel. We use structured IKFT Kidmetrix™ checks based on publicly available information to help parents, guardians and grandparents compare hotels more easily and to help hotels understand what kids look for.
Guided by the past, looking toward the future of family travel.

THE IKFT Kidmetrix™
Excellence in Every Detail.
From the playroom setup to the overall family welcome, we evaluate the details that turn an ordinary stay into a genuinely welcoming experience for the whole family. IKFT Kidmetrix™ criteria apply across 3★, 4★ and 5★ hotels, with the full 250+ framework available through IKFT Advisory Services

Beyond the Generic Checkbox
When parents, guardians, or grandparents search for a holiday on search engines or booking sites, selecting a “family‑friendly” filter is often only a starting point. A generic checkbox can’t confirm the practical, real‑world details that make a stay truly work for children. IKFT looks beyond that simple click.
The IKFT® Tiers of Excellence
A Clear Mark You Can See

International Kids Friendly Travel Recognized awards uses four public levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. These are the only public recognition levels, based entirely on independent desk research of publicly available information.
Each hotel is reviewed fairly within its class; a 3★ property is not compared to a 5★, ensuring balanced recognition.
Listings may also show a Travel Mode Tag to help you choose the right style of stay: Nature & Retreat, Splash & Play, or City & Discovery.
Platinum recognition requires two consecutive years at Gold level, meaning the earliest possible Platinum awards will be in the May 2028 Edition.
